The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understand.” Do you know what that tells me? We should be fully depending on God. For anything and everything.
Do we always do that?
No, of course not. We fall short every day. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to depend on God. We should depend on Him when we don’t know where our next paycheck is coming from or what the next section of our lives will look like. We need to depend on God to provide the things we need. And not always the things we want. Although, He does give us that too sometimes.
He is faithful. And He has never failed any of us. So why shouldn’t we depend on Him? He’s never given us a reason not to. Instead, He’s given us every reason to depend on Him completely. He’s always there. Always has been. Always will be. Depending on Him shows we trust Him to get us through everything in life, the good times and the bad. We need to depend on Him so that those who depend on us will see His light shine through us. Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men…”.
