Refine: It means to remove impurities. I know I’ve touched on this a lot. But the first thing that comes to my mind is that Jesus’s blood refines us. It takes away our impurities so that when we come before the Father, He doesn’t see our sins. Instead He’s sees His perfect son. The last 30 days have consisted of me refining myself and my writing. I didn’t think I would grow as much as I have as a writer in just such a short time.
Everyday Jesus refines us. He takes our sins and casts them as far as the east is from the west. That’s one of my favorite promises. I love the picture it illustrates. There’s a North and a South pole. You can go so far North and once you reach a certain point, you begin going South. North and South both have ends. But there isn’t an East or West pole. You can go East for an eternity. You can go West for an eternity. That’s how far Jesus casts our sins. Isn’t that wonderful? I can’t even begin to imagine what my life would be like without Jesus and His guidance in it. I need and seek it everyday so as to better refine myself.
